Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC)
A requirement of the Advanced Practice in Interactive and Visual Design Masters course was to design an interactive design fiction (futuristic) concept for the Brisbane International Airport, that would create a sense of place and surprise and delight passengers in the terminal.
Two concepts were designed (1 for Arrivals and 1 for Departures). Both conepts used augmented reality glass panels to project realistic images of Australian wildlife atop of real scenarios.
I performed all research including case studies of technology and airport concepts, as well as a contextual analysis of the airport and its various environments.
I designed the interactive concept, as well as accompanying design specification posters.
I was awarded a group to assist me in creating a video prototype of the concept, which was presented to BAC. My role in the making of the video prototype included filming, chromakey, animation and video editing.
A requirement of the User Experience Design Masters course was to design a user experience from ideation to prototype.
Twitchin is an app for twitchers aka birdwatchers. It is designed to help twitchers spend less time fussing over books and notes, and more time enjoying the birds. With one tap of the twitch button, Twitchin records sound, geolocation and the time of the twitch. The idea is that one twitch equals one sighting. Making it easier for a twitcher to identify birds, because they don't have to rely on memory alone. Future iterations would include sound and image recognition technologies to perform bird identification.
This project will continue to prototype stage.
For the initial concept design I created a website, photographed the app in the field for context, developed user scenarios and performed competitive research.
For the final submission, I developed a html prototype and design documentation, including wireframes, use cases, interaction diagrams, technical, functional and UX design considerations and specifications, and visual design and branding guidelines.
